Hikvision - why do we need a security system?

Hikvision is a leading global provider of innovative security products and systems. Hikvision's integrated product solutions include: video surveillance systems, video walls, access control systems, intercom, security alarms.

The main task of the company’s products and equipment is system security. What it is, examples - further.

The most basic definition of any security system is in its name. It is literally a means or method by which something is protected by a system of interacting components and devices.

In this case, we are talking about security systems, which are networks of integrated electronic devices that work together with a central control panel to protect against burglars and other potential intruders.

A typical security system includes:

  • The control panel, which is the main home security controller
  • Door and window sensors
  • Motion sensors, both internal and external
  • Wired or wireless security cameras
  • High Decibel Siren or Alarm

How does the security system work?

Security systems operate according to the simple concept of protecting entry points to a building using sensors that interact with a control panel or command center installed in a convenient location somewhere in the building.

Sensors are usually installed in doors that lead to and fr om a room, as well as easily accessible windows, especially those that open, especially at ground level. Open spaces inside the building can be protected by motion sensors.

The control panel is a computer that sets and disarms the security system, communicates with each installed component, issues an alarm when a security zone is violated, and communicates with the company monitoring the alarm.

As a rule, they are equipped with a touch panel for simple programming and interaction, wh ere passwords are entered for arming and disarming the system, can work with voice commands, and can be programmed to work with wireless remote controls called remote controls.

Door and window sensors - consist of two parts installed next to each other. One part of the device is installed on the door or window, and the other on the door frame or windowsill. When the door or window is closed, the two parts of the sensor are connected together, creating a safety circuit.

When the security system is armed on the control panel, these sensors communicate with it, reporting that the entry point is safe. In case of a sudden opening of a controlled door or window, the safety chain is broken, and the control panel interprets this as a violation of the protected area. The high-decibel alarm sounds, and in most cases the monitoring company is automatically notified of this.

Motion sensors - these security components, when they are turned on, protect space by creating an invisible zone that cannot be violated without an alarm. They are usually used to protect areas containing valuables, as well as those parts in the building that are less frequently visited by guests and staff.

Surveillance Cameras — Available in both wired and wireless configurations, surveillance cameras can be used in several different ways as part of a common security system.

Typical applications include monitoring:

  • Difficult accessible or remote areas of your building
  • Remote buildings such as garages, warehouses and so on
  • Entry points, both external and internal, as garage doors and front doors

Surveillance cameras can be accessed remotely on computers, smartphones and tablets. They can be used to record any security breaches that could lead to a shooting of an intrusion into a building, including a good description of the robbers and, most likely, the same car they drove.

A high-decibel alarm is loud enough for neighbors to hear, security alerts serve several different purposes. First, they warn people inside the building that a problem has arisen. They are also shrill enough to scare away burglars (for example), while notifying neighboring neighbors about the situation.
